Pluspunten

As the fourth A/E firm I have worked for, Halff is by far the best, and I love going into work every day. It is an employee-owned firm, with the largest shareholder owning a very small percentage, so there is a huge sense of pride, ownership, and satisfaction in the work we do. Wealth is shared through bonuses, ESOP, 401K matches, and competitive salaries/benefits. The atmosphere is kind, collaborative, innovative, entrepreneurial, and laid back with a strong work/life balance. Nobody in my group is micromanaged, which is nice. The management team cares about the employees and knows that focusing on their growth and satisfaction leads to happy clients. Even outside of the management team, there are incredible leaders and thinkers throughout the firm. People can think outside the box and try new endeavors if it makes good business sense. The projects are interesting, the quality is high, and the vision for the future is strong. Not stale; always looking to grow. Training is of utmost importance. Lots of community outreach. Has won a lot of project and company awards. Financially strong and steady. Just a really great place to work!

Minpunten

Overall, here is a summary of the company: - Some good teams- the company has some stronger departments, whereas others are not well supported in the organization - Poor benefits and compensation, slow progression/ no progression of salary, no yearly adjustments, no sick leave - Cross-team communication & collaboration were consistently very unorganized; each team is operating on very different managerial practices - The environment radiates the low-budget, value-engineered work that the company largely takes on, in terms of personalities within the office, as well as overall company morale. This will work for you if you value the stability it provides, but it will be difficult to advance in this organization if you aren't in alignment.
