Pluspunten

Nice that you get discounts. Co-workers are usually really nice to work with (except for the few). Our hotel is newly renovated, and the guests are decent at this location. The housekeeping, maintenance, houseperson, and kitchen staff are all absolutely lovely humans. Fast paced environment - quick way to gain skills fast for your resume. (They also had me training new people within 2 weeks of me working here).

There is a LOT of favoritism shown by management. Specifically to other members of management and those who have been working for more than a year. I get it, but they treat the rest of us like dog water and then are surprised when people quit within 3 weeks of working here. The management at this specific location refuses to allow you to SIT at any point during your shift. And even though they're legally required to give you a 10 min break every few hours - good luck actually getting that because you are seriously overworked and underpaid to do this job. PLUS - the micromanaging is INSANE! If you aren't absolutely perfect every second of your shift, the GM is in your business about something, even if it wasn't your fault. The dress code being a thing is one thing, but not allowing your employees to wear shoes they'll be comfy in for 8 hours is another. PSA - they must be black and closed toed at this location (and no sneakers btw since they're "unprofessional").

Minpunten

• High costs to have health insurance despite low pay. • A lot of immaturity, toxicity, and backstabbing amongst management and coworkers. • Favoritism; some get promoted despite grossly not satisfying metrics but because their mother is friends with the manager they are promoted. • Immature young lead housekeepers who have no social skills and are poor trainers. • They make you memorize the mission statement and punish you if you don't.
