Pluspunten

It is a sales role, so some of the hard graft is to be expected. I managed to pay off my debts - no other role would’ve allowed me to do that. Holidays and meals out. If you are genuinely hard working (and I mean HARD working) I say go for it but avoid if you aren’t committed to working long hours & are comfortable with independent working because you cannot succeed if you don’t put 110% in alone.

While ITG get some things right, there is still in my opinion, a lot to be learnt. When I first joined, the culture and atmosphere in the office seemed a lot better than my final weeks there. There was more training on offer, group workshops and seemingly happier staff. Now the room is filled with a lot of under performers who because of loyalty still have a seat in the room. There isn’t much training or retraining (which is MASSIVELY needed for the majority of staff (including myself). In any sales job, it is SO important to have regular meetings to align how targets will be hit. Somehow, this wasn’t happening and I asked for it to be implemented (which it was) but was met with the senior staff moaning saying it was pointless (yet they weren’t doing any deals????!). It got to the point where I dreaded coming in to be surrounded by people who clearly don’t want to be there - I was so passionate about sales before this job. Management (while most are lovely people) are very hands off once you’re considered to be trained (which isn’t a model that works for me, and I had raised this twice and was told that is the structure and to get my head down). I didn’t feel reassured by senior staff most of the time after being put on the board. Any chance you had to go over any concerns, felt like they were shut down very quickly. “This is the business model”. Seniors will ask for things to be done, but not offer advice or support on how to get to that end goal - something like “the job adverts are poor” but provide no help or strategy on how to improve said adverts. I see things about other agencies on LinkedIn who do more in person meetings and events - we don’t do any of this which is massively missing out on earning potential. The business strategy (used by the entire group) is based on recruitment 10-15 years ago - this has changed massively and yet people are being told to stick to blasting high call volumes. While yes, this can work, it doesn’t for all markets and providing some more insight into modern recruitment would be fantastic. The branding for the company isn’t inclusive of the markets covered (e.g we are a technology and IT rec company. What about PM, data, design and marketing?) Clients often bought this up to me too. We got asked to fill in an anonymous form about our opinions on the company (what’s working, what isn’t). A lot of us were very honest on our thoughts - and I was hoping these points would be discussed and we’d see changes. I’m honestly not even sure they were read again a massively missed chance of improving the business and staff wellbeing. Lastly, there is zero flexibility and no option of hybrid working. You have to be sat down at 8:20am and cannot leave before 5:30pm. Lunch is 1-1:55 and again you cannot take it a minute before. This reminds me massively of school which is sad. If you don’t trust your staff, please don’t hire them. I felt bad for eating breakfast at my desk but again, I was performing well so this shouldn’t matter? Staff also feel like they can’t run to the shop for paracetamol or a snack if you’re hungry because you have to hammer the phones. Told that this is fully office based for support but there was no support. The lack of support, no training, lack of communication and a loss of faith in senior staff unfortunately ruined my passion for sales and massively burnt me out leaving me no choice but to leave. I really hope ITG/ITECCO as a group fix the business strategy to catch up with the rest of the industry.
