Pluspunten

Minpunten

I took an extreme pay cut to join IPA, turning down several DREAM job offers because I was sold a false dream about the mission of IPA. It seemed so amazing, a woman owned and operated investment bank with a focus on diversity. Sure, it's a startup but it seemed like something worth the risk. Well, it definitely wasn't. I was hired for one role then once hired they switched the role altogether and gave me the run around as to why. Come to find out- within the same week I was hired, they ended up hiring someone else for the same role I was hired for then subsequently, just a few months later, they let me go because they couldn't find use for my time and didn't want to pay me a full time salary. Mind you- I had already been struggling financially just by being employed there to begin with then on top of it all they only gave me just a few days notice before letting me go with ZERO concern for my wellbeing or how I'd be after that. All just to save a few bucks, that's all I was to them. They don't care about their people AT ALL. I struggled for MONTHS trying to find a job after that and not a single person reached out to me to see how I was doing or even gave a referral. Their management style is sloppy. And, like the previous review, I 100% agree with everything said about Anne. She literally HIDES in her office when she's there and only chooses to speak to a select few people, in passing. How are you an innovative leader with an "empowering" company when you don't even acknowledge your own employees?? It took me nearly 2 months to even meet her and it was like she deliberately hid from me the whole time. It was only by chance in passing that she finally said "hi" as she rushed out the building like she had the most important place to be. Probably just some music concert *eye roll*. It's really awkward because the company only has like 30 employees, there's no reason to be that inaccessible. The appreciation of diversity is NOT felt here. It's clearly a gimmick and this company has a stench about it that feels like it's just some rich woman's dream that she conjured up out of boredom. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

Pluspunten

I recently completed my first year at Independence Point Advisors, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience to date. Transitioning from a bulge bracket bank environment, I wasn't sure what to expect from a startup environment, but IPA has exceeded all my expectations. The team here is exceptional – not only are they talented professionals from diverse backgrounds, but they're also incredibly supportive and collaborative. From day one, I've felt welcomed and valued, which has made all the difference in my transition. Despite being a startup, there's an undeniable energy and enthusiasm that permeates throughout both the physical office and remove culture. It's refreshing to be part of a company where innovation and entrepreneurship are not only encouraged but celebrated and recognized through its flexible work model. I've had the opportunity to work on challenging projects that have allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. The senior leadership team is invested in the success of each employee and the firm as a whole and makes themselves available to any member of the team. Overall, Independence Point Advisors is a fantastic place to work.
