Pluspunten
-Generous PTO offering at 18 days + 3 floating holidays
- Gainshare and quarterly bonuses for meeting production targets
- The industry seems to be in a healthy position and the company has seen some growth and profitability for the past few years
- Coworkers on average are pretty cool, most will help you out with anything and I've never gotten a sense that I was burdening anybody from asking questions and asking for guidance when I was a new employee. There's a healthy sense of comraderie between techs
Minpunten
- Like many big companies communication can be pretty poor especially between departments, sometimes to a point where it hurts productivity.
- middle management is a mixed bag, depending on what department you're in and what location and shift you're working on, your immediate supervisor can be great or not so great or somewhere in the middle.
- HR is almost nonexistent, if you have any issues or looking to resolve something like paycheck errors it's like pulling teeth trying to get somebody to call or email you back
- There are upswings and downswings in the industry so sometimes there will be a week or two where all you are doing is housekeeping and 5S activities, the next week so many production orders are coming down the pipe that it's hard for all of us to keep up.
- Management can sometimes be too demanding on getting a motor drives completed on time to a point where safety is at risk, these motor drives have a minimum of 4160V when fully running, you do not want to rush or cut corners working with lethal voltages.
- United Healthcare enough said
