I do like the ability to work from home. I have met some very bright and interesting nurses from all over the eastern and southern USA via telephone and have learned some new skills involving ICD-9 coding.
Minpunten
Unfortunately, communication is definitely one way. The President sends out lengthy and wordy messages about this, but provides no means for remote staff to honestly evaluate the company. Quarterly meetings are held by middle management which is admirable, however, no results have ever been implemented or answers that are promised never arrive. HR promised at the last three meetings that news on benefits for remotes would be announced at the end of the third quarter. We are there and, of course, no news. Training at all levels is very poor. There are some very qualified people I believe, but they are not in position to exact change. Yearly reviews (for salary increases) have recently been postponed for 3 months!! I have never had this happen in any company. Also, be prepared to do a lot of work on your own for which you are not paid (record-keeping of notes and weekly training, daily flowsheets, expenses for paper, printing, phone calls, use of personal computer) Many employees work flexible hours, but others cannot - very unequal treatment.
