Pay is only a fraction of what full-time staffs bring back. Interns are always thrown the unfavourable working shifts. I was once called back on a Sunday to the lab to test urgent samples. There is poor health and safety standards for the staff. Working in an environment full of carcinogens, almost everyone doesn't wear proper protective masks unless there was an audit going on.
