Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We're so glad that you are experiencing good support from your supervisor and job flexibility. Shadowing front line staff is a great idea. Some of our departments have done that recently, such as the Business Information Technology team, seeking to learn how we can streamline processes and make documentation easier through mobile apps. Many of our top leaders are on the front lines with staff regularly. This past weekend, a Vice President brought breakfast and Easter baskets to children and teens waiting to be matched with foster families and the staff caring for them. Your review doesn't list your location or department, but assuming that you are on our largest team (KVC Kansas), we have a good sense of some of the real issues: a 39% increase in the number of children in foster care in the last 5 years, fewer safe placement options for children, and ongoing workforce challenges causing high caseloads and turnover.
