Minpunten

pretty much everything else. -no career growth. Your title and salary will change but you will be doing the same job the whole time. So 5 years in you're still doing the same job as the new guy. -work constantly 65 hours a week - so many goals to hit and most of them are unatainable. Soon there will be a goal for how many bathroom breaks your are allowed to take. -you will be required to make 60-80 phone calls (90% cold calls) a day. Most sales rep are constantly calling the same contact at the company which is extremely annoying. -When you ask your manager for advice all they can say is make more phone calls. There is no strategy in this company. Japan tells the managers what to do and they tell us. Managers are basically well paid translators. -let's give them a bit more credit, managers are also very good at micro managing. Checking your cell phones to see where you are, 2 meeting a day to remind you to hit goal. You ask them how and they have no idea. - the working hours feel like you're back in elementary school. The bell rings at 8 am and 5 pm. If you get there after 8am or leave before 5pm you will get in trouble. Even thought you got home at 10 pm the night before you are required to be at the office for 8 am sharp. In summary you are just a number to Keyence. People that work there for a long time leave the company and realized they haven't learnt anything and hence you are stuck in sales your whole life. Most of the employees are engineers but get treated like crap.

Pluspunten

Great training program, and good mix of roles. You wear a lot of hats at this job which prepares you well for your career. Business and technically focused, and a real product expert type of role.

Minpunten

Its a tough job and a lot of work and long hours. You need to deal with customers constantly through a lot of virtual support.

Pluspunten

Fast paced work environment. CRM is the best I have ever had access to. Data tracking and sales insight is top notch. The regional director for TSS in Michigan/Indiana is great to work under. Leads are easily available, the product is great and it’s easy to get in the door places.

Minpunten

Metrics are more focused on quantity over quality. Frequently working 50+ hour weeks. Too many reps per territory and it can create a negative perception. Bonus structure vs straight commission is frusterating. Clear advancement structure however being ranked against peers with different sales targets in frusterating. Feels like a turn and burn type of mentality towards sales reps.
