Pluspunten

Work From Home - office occasional. But understand that it’s expected that you do show up in the office at least once a week but they swear you don’t have to come in, but you better have a reason or else you’ll be frowned upon. Salaried plus uncapped commission - Salary was decent for someone coming in entry level. but your benefits are going to eat into this significantly as they’re pretty pricey, the uncapped commission is pretty frustrating as it takes a lot of time to make a single placement and depending on the client and depending on the GP you negotiate, it will take you a while to start seeing real money from your commission. Autonomy - There is a level of autonomy here but the reality is that there is micromanagement that does happen and can get very frustrating when you’re trying to develop business with your candidates or your clients. Culture - The culture here is very wonky. I mean you’re expected to believe that your team cares about you but when business is slow (and it certainly is) you are actually pinned up against your other teams mate because you’re all covering the same reqs. And this is encouraged by management. Not to mention that there is favoritism for tenured folks, and in my office specifically out of a team of 15 plus, there were about 4. Opportunity - Kforce does give opportunity to someone starting out in staffing or getting a job out of college, for me this was really great, however you must understand that your ramp up is going to determine your longevity with the company and its very unforgiving if you’re falling behind. Which I guess is understandable but this really just means can you hit metrics. PTO is decent.

Minpunten

The reality with Kforce as is most companies in their industry and the industry they’re serving (Tech) is experiencing slow business. This means that job orders are not coming in and what is coming in is getting covered very fast by and swarmed by recruiters just trying to meet their metrics. The metrics are completely unforgiving, before I was terminated (due to not meeting metrics despite the fact that I was actually increasing my numbers in all areas [this is actually true]) none but 2 tenured recruiters were hitting the actual required KPIs that the firm set as a standard. If you’re not hitting that or not trending that way, expect to be put on a performance plan and expect to be looking another job. It won’t matter if you are an actual good recruiter who tries to do right by the clients you serve. In the battle between business and pleasing management, the latter will always win because of job security. They will tell you and train you to avoid being a transactional recruiter, meaning you are just trying to get a submission, but in reality that’s what it’s become because God forbid Kforce does a layoff, instead they systematically set up people to fail so they can terminate you instead. This happen to several of my colleagues. Favoritism does run rampant here and if you’re in good standing with management you’re in a better place, which means face time with your manager matters a ton. Also expect to work an insane amount of hours and be stressed out of your mind, the more business you acquire the harder your life will become and they expect you to work late and it will severely impact your business if you don’t.

Pluspunten

Kforce is in a strong position with a clear strategy, real momentum, and a differentiated model that combines talent and solutions in a way that aligns with where clients are heading. There’s a genuine opportunity to take market share right now if teams move with urgency and stay focused externally, and leadership reinforces that consistently. If you’re someone who wants ownership, values outcomes over activity, and is motivated by building relationships and expanding accounts, there’s a lot of room to grow and make an impact.

Minpunten

I don’t have true “cons” to call out, but I would highlight that Kforce will not be the right fit for everyone. This is a high accountability, performance-driven environment that requires the ability to balance pace with precision. Success here is not about choosing between quality or quantity. Both matter. Individuals who lean heavily toward one at the expense of the other may find it challenging, as the expectation is to deliver both consistently.

Pluspunten

Decent salary base, probably could be a really good paying job if the job market was better

Minpunten

Definitely a typical, corporate sales culture where you are defined by your metrics and your metrics only. They are money grabbers, and their commission structure isn't that great. After 2 years you lose 50% of your commission from contractors and they eliminated early release days before holidays. My office started becoming a "bro culture" and the leader was clearly trying to act like "one of the guys" with the males in the office. If your market is slow with reqs, they expect you to reach out to other offices for subs which is hard to do when other offices favor their own teams' recruiters. They'll likely give you a picked over req or one not close to the money that their own team didn't want to work on. I had to reach out to other offices daily to basically beg for a req to work on to hit my metrics. To add to it, the PTO structure for salaried employees is not how they described it when I joined. 17 PTO days total (including sick/personal time btw) and it is actually accrued throughout the year. I had to use PTO for sick time and a vacation, so when I left I had to write them a check for my balance! Talk about a way to really give someone the boot when they're on their way out the door.
