Pluspunten
Pay was good. Most of my coworkers were very nice. Had I wanted to, I imagine that transferring to a different state would not have been overly difficult.
Minpunten
-It's VERY corporate. Tons of unrealistic sales goals encourage employees to be a bit opportunistic/backstabbing. When it becomes all about percentages, an aspect of patient care is lost. I have always seen myself as a healthcare professional first, and a salesperson second. If the most expensive lens option isn't going to meet your needs, I will honestly tell you. My percentages, therefore, did not always meet company expectations. -Many promotional / product strategies that came from corporate definitely felt like they had been developed by "suits" rather than people who actually understood what working in the store was actually like and what customers actually liked / responded to. I always felt like they should make everyone in the C-suite work at least 2 weeks per year in a store (and actually working, not just "supervising") so they could experience first hand what their crazy ideas looked like on the ground. -The products were marked up very highly. I worked in other opticals that used the exact same frames and/or lenses, and yet LensCrafters cost far more for the same stuff. Call me a softy, but I hate overcharging people. -A manager at the time was having... "interactions?" with a staff member, and many of us felt that there were things happening that were against company policies. This manager was eventually replaced.
