Beware of joining Mapbox. The engineering org is run like a dictatorship. Terrible leadership. Over 100 engineers have left the company. We are all doing 3 jobs and getting burned out. They don’t care. Everyone I know is interviewing. They will say that change is consistent with a start up. This is an excuse for bad behavior. It is a toxic environment with a fear-based culture. The CEO is on an ego trip. He blames others rather than be accountable or take responsibility for his poor decisions. No transparency or communication. All the executives and anyone with experience is gone. The CEO has fired or forced the entire executive team. All he does is hire his buddies who have no experience and they run the company. If you are not in his inner circle then you are out. It is a political environment and they do not live their values. There is no accountability or transparency. Do not come here is you want a culture where your voice is heard and respected. Do not come here of you want to be recognized and appreciated for all your hard work and dedication. Do not come here if you want to be treated fairly and equally.
