Great Learning Experience - werkgeversreview Summer Intern bij Material Innovation Initiative

MII combines the ability to be a leader in this incredibly critical need for non-animal based materials, with the opportunity to be a part of a team that truly embraces the importance of an inclusive workplace. The mission drew me in, the people were the reason I quickly committed to being a member of the Board. As someone who has very little time left in the day with my fulltime job, I could not volunteer my time fast enough to this great organization. That speaks volumes.

I honestly cannot think of anything that gives me pause.

I absolutely loved working with Nicole and Anne and the other interns this summer — everyone is super hardworking, supportive, and extremely passionate about MII's mission. They created the space and gave me the knowledge I needed to grow, both in terms of my project as well as in terms of professional/networking skills. Nicole and Anne also really go out of their way to support the intern team and are always happy to answer questions, offer thoughtful advice, or just chat to get to know you better. They made it really easy to learn through their detailed schedules and thoughtful projects, and are quick repliers! I have never worked with more organized employers who put so much thought and care into their work — they've set the bar high for my future internships.

A very small downside to working for MII is that it operates remotely. However, this offered me greater flexibility in terms of work schedule and Nicole and Anne still fostered a sense of community through weekly coffee chats and team-wide meetings.
