I can't speak for the departments I don't work in, but in the Security field the opportunity for advancement is minimal at best. The flow of information is very bad. Pay is subpar. A vast amount of things are expected of the officers, but compensation isn't an option. When I was hired for this position the Minimum MRV rate was higher than what I'm actually being paid. And a new position is listed that is almost 5k higher than what I'm being paid and it's the same position I hold. Zero explaination as to why I might see something like that.
