The actual company culture is very isolating. Everyone who was there was there because they were friends with or knew someone who already worked there. There were only three people who were hired without any previous relationship. As far as I know, all three of those people are gone. Like they will act nice, but you really can’t compete with these people who have long time ties to each other in such a small organization.
For example, one of the long time people freely used racial slurs in front of the CTO and myself. CTO didn’t bat an eye. I had to be the one to tell this other employee to cool it on the “color commentary”. So if you are one of the long time folks, you are given a WIDE latitude.
Also know that there is no room for advancement. The core people — the ones that have been there for a while/have previous personal relationships with management — will have their pick of positions . If you want to work here, treat it as a transition stage.
