Reactie van O2
5yAt O2 we welcome all feedback, so thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really pleased to read, that you have highlighted that our people are nice and have great commitment to the company and the O2 brand. We believe our people are key to our customer experience and the success of our business, so its great to hear that you recognise this too.
We’ll be the first to say there’s always room for improvement, and it’s interesting to read your view on areas you think we could do better. In relation to pay, we undertake annual benchmarking of all our salaries and benefits to ensure we’re paying competitively and retaining the best talent, so we’re a little surprised that you feel our pay is low in comparison to others in the industry. Also during the Covid pandemic, like many organisations we’ve tried to safeguard permanent jobs, so this did mean that we offered more fixed term contracts than we’d usually do for any gaps we had in the workforce. While you may not agree with this decision, be assured all those who have joined us on a fixed term contract are more than capable to do the roles they have been employed to do, and we’ve seen no impact to business areas being able to operate effectively as a result of this decision. We also recognise 2020 has been a really unsettling time for all employees having to adjust to the changes to ways of working especially in light of the government guidance on Covid19, all the decisions we have taken in relation to ways of working during this time have been taken to comply with the official guidance, and keep our people safe, and to ensure that no matter which part of the business you worked in, you were treated fairly and consistently, its disappointing that you disagree with us taking this approach.
With regard to the proposed 50:50 JV between O2 and Virgin Media, which remains subject to regulatory approval but which is anticipated to complete mid-2021, we have promised that we will tell you what we can when we can and we continue to do that – the latest information is available at www.nationalconnectivitychampion.co.uk, which we keep regularly updated.
We take our employee’s views seriously and our confidential and anonymous employee engagement surveys are just one way that we ask for feedback. We have a strong network of people champions across the business who work really hard with teams and understand what’s going well and take action where we can make improvements. We pride ourselves on enabling and expecting our people to raise any concerns they have informally or formally through our grievance policy or through our system known as the “Speak Up Portal” where employees can report concerns in confidence and anonymously. At Telefonica we operate the TRUST model. (Think about the situation, Read the relevant policy, Understand how to raise a concern, Speak up, Take the necessary action) Our TRUST model is there to help employees when faced with an ethical dilemma, and is designed to encourage a culture of honesty and openness so we’d hope that you’d agree that we have many ways to capture feedback without any fear.
