Pluspunten
The pay was competitive, especially for a position available right out of high school. I had the opportunity to work with a team of friendly and supportive colleagues. The job provided regular exercise through walking around the building during each shift. The work itself was straightforward and generally easy to manage.
Minpunten
Leadership Challenges: The management style was often perceived as lacking responsibility and self-awareness, which impacted team morale and efficiency. Chronic Understaffing: The site was frequently understaffed, largely due to management decisions. On one occasion, we lost five security guards within a 24-hour period, requiring remaining staff to work extended 12-hour shifts until new team members could be hired. Inequitable Shift Assignments: First shift opportunities were limited to the manager, the most senior employee, and select favorites, creating an exclusive environment and limiting advancement or fair scheduling for others. Communication Issues: Communication was inconsistent, particularly before personal phones were permitted on shift. Staff often arrived expecting an 8-hour shift, only to be informed of a change to a 12-hour shift with little to no notice. Shift Transition Policy: There was a policy requiring outgoing guards to remain on site until all incoming shift members had arrived, which led to frequent delays and extended work hours for the previous shift.
