I usually don’t review companies I currently work for, but recently I had 2 experiences that prompted me to look at the reviews. First, I had suggested a friend of mine for an open position and they called with concerns due to the existing ratings. Second, in an initial interview I was conducting the applicant expressed the same concern. TL;DR, I love it here and vehemently disagree with what has been written and felt like I should share my POV. Honestly, when I was recruited to work here in June of 2017 there were ABSOLUTELY ZERO reviews of this company. As an active Glassdoor user, when I saw that there were now 3 harshly written reviews in very short order I assumed that something fishy was going on. I cannot speak to other reviewer's experience or individual situations, I can only speak to mine. In that light, take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. My advice to anyone looking to work here is this: act how you want to be treated. From what I have witnessed at OCR, those who may have had a less than ideal experience were also the people who had a sense of entitlement in regards to their employment. To be blunt, there is a lot of opportunity for career growth, it is just that said career growth is dependent on actual performance. Culturally, a small group of negative minded employees constantly express that they should be paid more or up for promotions that they simply haven’t proven themselves worthy for. Ironically, as those people have fallen away there has been an uptick in low ratings for OCR on Glassdoor. I am by no means claiming that there is no room for improvement, it is a startup that is owned by a larger corporation and with that comes challenges. However, I am saying that the people who tend to review are also the people who have complaints. There are so many more happy and fulfilled employees than is represented on this thread. My honest experience has been that they have empowered me to lead, challenged me to rise to the occasion, and cared about my career growth and that is why I stay at OCR. Real pros to the job: -Passionate leaders. -Company goal of putting the right people in the right positions. -Work/life balance. -Generous leave and sick day policy. -Flexible work arrangements. -Getting sh*t done
Minpunten
As with all growing companies there are growing pains, I am sure leadership is aware of these and is working on them. I am not lying when I say I have seen other concerns get fixed so I know they are working through this list: -Insurance Benefits aren’t the best. -HR is currently a global function, we need an onsite HR rep. -Recruitment is slow. -Overall employee bandwidth is at a max. -Employee moral is down. -Office administration is overworked and needs an office manager. -There is a strong need for more middle to senior management across departments. -Corporate systems need to be updated/replaced. -Tools should be adopted across the company.
