Pluspunten

- I love my role. It is fast-paced, exciting, and there is room for upward mobility. - The company is founded upon a noble mission inspired by the CEO of good clean nutrition. - The office is absolutely beautiful. - Working with Nestle Health Science has been much better than expected. - The majority of my collogues are excellent to work with, many have become friends, and most employees are very high performers. - I enjoy the products. -The company has excellent benefits. - The CEO is genuine, very intelligent, compassionate and someone to look up to.

I am writing this with the hope that the truth will surface so the culture can change for the better. The CMO Andrea Theodore is an absolute bully. She is manipulative, undermines people, is abusive (especially to direct reports), and is an assault to the company culture that the founder Andrew worked so hard to create. She is toxic to the organization and has created a culture of fear and intimidation amongst excellent high performing staff. She does not tolerate her employees needing a work-life balance, she is not open to opinions that differ from hers, she takes credit for ideas and work where none is deserved, and she is not afraid to berate people in front of others. Additionally, she acts as a dictator, lies compulsively, is an extreme micromanager, is intentionally cruel to people and fuels drama; all of which make Orgain a hostile workplace. The fear of formally speaking up resonates all the way up to staff of similar rank as her. Thus, employees stay silent and endure the abuse as I am currently doing for fear of retaliation. A number of colleagues have quit within the last few years expressly because working for or with her is so terrible and several more are teetering on the verge, including myself. Her ability to intimidate and coerce HR and the CEO into believing her narrative allows her to act with impunity. Unfortunately, she is not the first or only bully at the company as it is easy to either intimidate or be liked enough by the CEO to have immunity. Adding salt to a wound, there is rumor she is vying to be the successor to the CEO. This should absolutely not happen as she is unfit, toxic, and dangerous to good organizations like Orgain. If you see subsequent posts on Glassdoor dismissing my perspective, be dubious of their origin as they may be from or directed by her. I have no doubt this post will result in her trying to determine who wrote this post and squash the dissent internally through hostile and cruel tactics. In addition, the company was recently partially acquired by Nestle Health Sciences. The company-wide communication was that nothing would change and that Orgain would continue "business as usual". This was not true and people quickly found themselves without jobs or shuffled over to Nestle with little notice. This was gutting after hearing the CEO state "business as usual" and resulted in a lot of lost trust and fear for many for jobs. This chaos has yet to dissipate.

Pluspunten

Orgain is a mission driven organization with the goal of helping people live healthier more vibrant lives. Our CEO Andrew, and the whole ELT are great to work with. There is a level of humanity at Orgain that isn't present at many companies. Each person is treated with respect and kindness, like they actually matter (because they do), vs just being a number, etc. The positive culture permeates the organization.

No real cons. As with any company there are issues that pop up, but generally they are handled very well.

Remote and hybrid employees are second-class citizens. Collaboration is performative at best, exclusionary at worst. Important conversations happen behind closed doors—or at in-office desks. Toxic politics thrive. Advancement is based on popularity, not performance. If you're not part of the inner circle, good luck. Zero work-life balance. Boundaries are non-existent. Expect Slack messages and passive-aggressive emails at all hours. Too many conflicting voices. Projects are paralyzed by indecision and ego. Nothing moves unless it’s personally endorsed by leadership. Leadership hides dysfunction behind “wellness.” Internal meetings are filled with unsolicited medical and lifestyle advice, often triggering to those with lived experiences around body image or eating disorders. Classism is baked into the culture. There’s a clear divide between those who lead and those who serve—and it shows in every meeting, every “perk,” and every policy. Cult-like behavior is encouraged. Dissent is not welcomed. Honest feedback is dismissed as negativity, while empty enthusiasm is rewarded.
