Pluspunten
Good kids to work with, a good place to start should who have an interest in special needs, education, human services, or mental health. This is a good job for a young 20-something fresh out of college looking to perhaps move to something bigger and better.
Minpunten
Though typical in the field, the pay is low, and exceptionally low. Considering you have to deal with some aggressive students, oftentimes the risk outweighs the rewards to the point where you can feel your own morale get lower. The program is great, but it becomes more unstructured than it really needs to be. And because the pay is so poor, I had to work a second PT job just to make ends meet, and was going to school simultaneously, so I'd often report to this job with little to no energy. Unfortunately, these issues are not exclusive to PACTT. This is a great job for someone looking to move up in the world, not for an older individual already established in the job market. Little advice if you get hired--take it, it is good work experience, but don't stay longer than a year. Make plans to move up and out, to better your career.
