I was hired during a major transition period and placed on a team where I was isolated from the other members of my department, which meant training was minimal to nonexistent, and I was expected to perform without proper onboarding or guidance. Communication was consistently poor. Leadership frequently changed direction on the spot, often contradicting prior feedback and approvals. Even when I referenced points from previous reviews that had already been approved and explained why certain issues existed, they were dismissed, and I was told to change things anyway. Senior leadership openly questioned the existence of my department and repeatedly attempted to push our responsibilities onto other teams. At the same time, the leadership team was aggressively pushing AI initiatives, lowering expectations around its capabilities while minimizing the value and scope of our work. This instability directly contributed to a constant lack of job security. During my final month, I was assigned duties not listed in my job description and expected to learn entirely new responsibilities without support. I was then terminated without warning, and told that it is because I wasn’t adapting to these new responsibilities fast enough, despite not being trained properly, reinforcing how unclear and unstable expectations were throughout my time there. Compensation was low for the workload and level of responsibility expected. On top of that, there was a constant lack of job security, which created ongoing stress and uncertainty. Overall, the environment felt disorganized and unstable, with little support for employees to succeed.
