Pluspunten

From my own experience, I have gained a plethora of knowledge in the area I was in so I was able to find my next career.

Minpunten

I am not sure where to start but I want to make sure Paycom does not flag this review. So let me just say, that my experience is unique and my own but it might be similar to others, and I am not speaking on behalf of anyone. Even though this company brought experience to my resume, it was not worth my mental health or feeling like I was going to be fired at any moment. It's unfortunate to share and look back on my experience at Paycom but felt compelled to finally come out with some of the details of my experience. I hope this helps the next guy - because I know it won't move mountains and make a change at Paycom or their leadership tactics. For those who are required to comment on my review, I do not want your apology, or "we'll take this to leadership", or whatever you typically write back to reviewers. And I'm sorry you have to write a comment to my post. Through my time at Paycom, I have had multiple cases filed to HR based on the treatment from leadership to myself. I did not receive any help or felt any change during my time there with HR knowing the situations. I also went to senior (and HR) leadership and my HR Business Partner regarding my concerns and feedback. In addition to those resources, I went to my wellness coach that was provided through the company that was located at HQ. Just based on those actions, I never got the change I needed for me to flourish in my career at this company. Listening to senior leadership (including the CEO) tell everyone that we had to come back to the office after a Global Pandemic with no reason outside of "we work best in an in-office environment" that they sent out in an email, was absolutely insensitive to those of us who were not comfortable, speaking to myself. Only to follow multiple teams and employees getting extremely sick from this virus immediately after we reported back. Although they tried to follow safe precautions, this failed on many accounts. Prime example: Even though they added COVID-19 sick time, I was still expected to work when I was home sick with COVID. Per HR, COVID-19 sick time was supposed to be used as a true sick time off. Which meant, I should not be working while being home and sick. I have phone calls, texts, emails, and team messages with "urgent since you didn't prep yourself to be out, we have questions and need you to work". I even got texts and phone calls only 24 hours after my positive test "When can you return to work". I explained this in great detail to my HR business partner and my exit survey. With clearly stated data that showed myself going above my job duties, I was always told I was not there yet to hit the next level in my position. I worked with my HRBP to make sure I was accurately portraying what my role entailed and what it took to make it to the next level. They spoke to my Director in addition to me, and we were told the job requirements for the next level had changed and I was no longer meeting expectations for this promotion. This was again on record and stated to HR and the HR Business Partner Team Lead even spoke to my boss about this. Thank goodness for other team members on my team who were looking out for me. I would sit in team meetings and suggest new ideas or proactive methods and my leadership team would not listen and said back that it was not a great idea. It wasn't until other team members (who are not similar to me) spoke up and said the same idea and was praised for it. Read through the lines and believe me, it happened as wild as it sounds. Again, all are recorded in my feedback, complaints, and exit survey. Lastly, I was appalled by how many times I was told by my team lead and other leaders in my department that we should write a Glassdoor review. Don't you think if I am actively submitting complaints and HR knows that leadership is not actively engaged in my performance, I am not the best person to write a survey? I suppose that's another flaw their leadership has. I really don't need a comment from Paycom on this review. I just felt like this was something that I've been wanting to share with the public. I hope whoever reads this takes this under consideration when applying for a job at Paycom. Best of luck.

Pluspunten

- Base salary - PTO - Awesome colleagues - $1 Medical PPO offering

Minpunten

- Upper leadership seem to not value the operations department as much as they do with sales. They are not consistent as well, which causes them to change the entire department's job description, expectations, & commission structure every few months. Change is good but huge change every 3-4 months is so exhausting. - They overload you with too many clients to handle while increasing the number of internal calls. When asking for support from sales or middle management, its typically a hard negotiation or non-existent. Expect to work way over 40 hours/week and juggle 10-20+ clients at a time. - Sales will oversell on product & implementation expectation which makes the job 1000% harder. Turnover with sales is extremely high so don't expect for even the best reps stay as they either leave, get fired because quota was not met, or the new manager will cut them if they're "not the vibe". You get left with the newbies who does not know how to sell or support you when you need them. - Every role in this company has high turnover in general. Making it very hard to cross collaborate with other departments as everyone is either extremely swamped or new to the role and cannot support as well, - Being forced to go to Oklahoma for training every year, sometimes twice a year.
