I changed careers in my late 30s after working in television and being on air for nearly 15 years. In that time, I met my wife and started a family and the work/life balance scale always tipped toward work. I always felt like I was on call. My mental health suffered, I wasn't eligible for a promotion in my role, my pay didn't always keep up with cost-of-living, and etc.
At Paycom, I celebrate the normal-ness of my schedule. A set time Monday through Friday. Work stays at work and I don't feel guilty taking time away. I'm awarded the opportunity to learn and grow in my role and have learned the value of honest feedback, not to point out my wrongs, but to help me improve. My merit is based on my performance and I'm always encouraged to try new things. This has been the best work environment I've ever experienced.
Minpunten
It's a payroll company, so there's a lot of acronyms and jargon to learn and the atmosphere can feel daunting at first. Once you've been through on-boarding and begin to settle into your role, it doesn't seem as scary.

We truly appreciate you sharing your workplace journey. We want our team members to continuously learn, grow and thrive both personally and professionally. We're so grateful to know this has been your experience! Thank you for your 5-star review.
The work we do is challenging but is satisfying. $4 dollar lunches are great and I enjoy the people and managers I work with. We have gone through changes, but the changes are worth it and the tools we are provided keep us successful. The salary is great and top level, highly recommend working here if you love a challenge. I promise you’ll never be bored.

The workload and hours can be heavy at times, but the long-term gratification is worth it. Paycom is about long-term investment, and it requires patience and perseverance but it’s worth it, if you are strong enough.
