The employees are young and lively. The idea of "blockchain and de-fi" sounds really cool. Lots of career opportunities because there is so much turnover. Good diversity; lots of other women.

Paystand takes advantage of their employees. I wish I would have noticed this sooner. I think the reason for this is that the employees are so new, with little industry experience, they don't even notice. For most Paystand employees this is their first time at a "real" job. The co-founder is super toxic and loses his cool on a daily basis. No joke, literally freaks out and has hissy fits on calls. Since he is the co-founder, the CEO just lets him run rampant. Seriously the dude offends most women, and is impossible to work with, and as a sales person you have to use him for demos. It is simply hell just getting him to join a call to speak to the customer. Everything you ask him, his response is some new rule he made up, why he can't help you or the customer. The CEO holds a company wide meeting at 7pm every FRIDAY! Its the kind of work culture where they really want you to work every day from the office because they don't trust you working. And they schedule the mandatory call late Friday so you can't leave early for the weekend. That meeting says enough about the vibe there. Hey maybe that's necessary when you have such a junior sales staff. They say they care about the employee in company announcement. But then when you need to WFH because you kid is sick, they threaten punishment for not making it into the office enough days. Don't even get me started on the Mexico office; I feel so bad for these really lovely people. Its the nicest group of people in Mexico, they flew us down to meet them for a company event. Sadly I feel Paystand preys heavily on the Mexican employees with the lowest wages in the entire industry. And when employees leave the company in CA, they move that position to the Mexico office for 1/6th the salary. It took me a little while to realize all of this. I was naive and thought it was so fun that I worked at a startup. I thought it was cool and hip that work was chaos and things were so messed up. I would chalk it up to "wow startups are wild." But now I realize chaos and disorganization means the company is messed up. And then after dealing with all that garbage, the service Paystand provides is not great either. I heard its only a 12% deal close rate, and the deal you do close, that customer has major issues. My customer complained and wanted to cancel. The customer said that the rates that we charged her were much higher than what we told her during the sales process. Is this some common theme of dishonesty from Paystand? Bottom line too much chaos to deal with, too much in-office work scrutiny, deals don't close, leading to no sales commissions, and so many empty promises from management. Run as far away, as fast as you can. Do not believe their false promises. I did for too long.
