We don't know who you are and we have not let go of anyone from the sales team before. So we have to answer this question in a generic manner.
We have done about a handful performance-based severances and a one-off business lay-off. All performance-based severances have been given prevailing notice periods and salaries. All layoffs (unlike how it is normally done) have also been given prevailing notice periods and salaries. So the comment is factually incorrect.
About severance packages: We don't know what the expectations are. It's considered to be very fair if an employee who is being asked to leave is allowed to sever a full notice period and full salary. And in cases where it is not about performance, we have helped facilitate alternate (and in all cases with better pay!) employment.
