Pluspunten

- None. Seriously, there are no real positives left. - The mission sounds inspiring on paper—but leadership couldn’t care less about it. - Remote work is technically available—for now—though they’re already threatening to take it away. - You’ll meet some talented, hardworking colleagues, but they’ll either burn out or quit not long after. - Ice cream/brownies? Yeah, they'll give you that sometimes. That’s about as deep as their employee appreciation goes.

Minpunten

- Toxic Culture: This place is a cesspit of toxicity, burnout, and favouritism. Employees are treated like disposable resources with having 4 rounds of redundancies in the space of a year. - Leadership Incompetence: The executives are clueless, disconnected, and incapable of making any meaningful decisions. They refuse to listen to employees and only care about short-term profits and shareholders. Given that many of them seem to be here just to pad their CVs due to the revolving door of VP's and C-Suite. - Burnout Guaranteed: Expect to work yourself to exhaustion with zero support or resources. Burnout is the norm, and leadership seems to actively encourage it as a badge of honour. - Abysmal Pay: Salaries are insulting, riddled with discrepancies between staff, and far below industry standards. Employees are often expected to do the work of two or more people for peanuts. Benefits? Barely existent. - No Career Growth: Forget about promotions or career progression. Talented employees are overlooked in favour of people who possess incompetence to a level that they lack the knowhow to question the strategic direction. A quality the leadership team actively searches for in their staff. The most ambitious and capable staff leave quickly. - Zero Transparency: Communication from leadership is either nonexistent or outright dismissive. Decisions are made in secret, with no explanation, and often leave employees confused and demoralised. - No Innovation: If you’re in tech or product development, look elsewhere. This company prioritises sales demands over innovation or best practices, forcing teams to deliver rushed, half-baked solutions. - Ruined Culture: What was once a promising, supportive workplace has been obliterated. Leadership has gutted any sense of trust, morale, or community.

Hi there, we’re really sorry to hear that this has been your experience at Pod Point. Change is never easy, and we know the past couple of years have been a period of transition. While we don’t see things quite the same way, we do want to acknowledge how important it is that everyone at Pod Point feels valued, heard, and excited about the future. To clear up a few things—remote working isn’t going anywhere, and we’ve never threatened to take it away. Our mission to make EV easy for everyone is at the heart of everything we do. It’s not just words on a page—it drives our decisions, our innovation, and every interaction we have with our customers and each other. When it comes to the changes we’ve been through, we know they’ve been tough. But for context, we had three rounds of reorganisation over two years—not four in one year—and these weren’t just about redundancies but about reshaping the business for long-term success. We were genuinely delighted to redeploy many of the talented people affected, and we know change like this can be unsettling. Yes, we have a new leadership team, and that’s been part of our evolution as we move from being a startup to our next stage of growth. They’ve worked hard to get to know the business, listen to people, and shape a strategy that will take us forward. And we know that, as they settle in, things will only continue to improve. As for our products and service—we’re incredibly proud of them. The feedback from our customers and the industry tells us we’re not just innovating, but we’re leading the way. And we’re not slowing down—we’ve got some really exciting things coming. At the end of the day, Pod Point wouldn’t be where it is without our amazing team. It’s the passion, drive, and creativity of our people that have got us here, and we couldn’t be more grateful. We know there’s always more to do, and we’re committed to making Pod Point the best it can be for everyone who works here. Best, Pod Point

Pluspunten

- The dynamic in the business is very positive, enthusiastic and caring. - Despite a tough market to work in at the moment, the SLT are working together well and facing this challenge head on, rather than burying their heads in the sand. They have a clear vision. I have confidence in their plans. - Pod (Point) are very adaptable and eager to change and improve, refreshingly more so than any prior company I've worked for (due to hierarchy and bureaucracy). Company-wide improved agile ways of working shouldn't be understated. - Managers are open and approachable. - Remote working approach is very productive, both for solo work and remote meetings, and this provides a great work/life balance by avoiding commuting, and providing convenience. - The work and projects are interesting and varied. - A great brand and product business to be associated with. - There have been promotion and development opportunities, and internal development/investment in individuals.

Minpunten

- Due to financial & market pressures (and possibly having grown the business a bit too quickly in the past), there have been rounds of redundancies over the last 2 years. This appears to have been essential in order to protect the business and ultimately others' jobs in the process. This has obviously impacted morale and confidence as you'd expect, but the business has focussed well on the recovery from this. - Individual training budgets have been very tight for a long period of time. The cost of not investing in the training of staff could be greater than the cost of doing so. - The benefits package is quite basic and is more generous elsewhere.

Hi there, Dean here from the People Team. I just wanted to say thank you for such an honest insight into all things Pod related over the past couple of years. It's really good to see that, despite the changes, your positive outlook for the business matches the energy those changes were set to bring! I hear you on the development and benefits points that are raised, and do want to give you some confidence that we are working on a number of projects to support this in the team. If you wanted to find out some more about this, please do slack me directly and we can pick up a conversation. All the best!
