Pluspunten
The people at Postlight are my favorite part about the job. Everyone cares about the work and works hard. People across departments are interesting, smart, incredibly talented, and eager to help. I've made great working relationships and friendships here. The culture is on the side of introverted, which works for me. The real workplace bonding happens on Slack, which is often funny, informal, and full of team inside jokes. But we do also have kitchen beers and happy hours, karaoke, various clubs, and digital team hangouts. During COVID times, the leadership feels like a stable force amidst all of this, and they've introduced great perks to keep us feeling appreciated. I trust their direction with this company. I'm paid fairly, the benefits are above par, and my direct manager is a delightful, smart, and caring person.

Sometimes working with the managing partners can feel intimidating. They're an extremely smart and close-knit bunch, and stepping into that dynamic without much direction can feel overwhelming. I don't always feel 100% welcome or heard in meetings where I'm involved with leadership. It's easy to feel like the odd one out or like my ideas are less valued off the bat. Oftentimes leadership is quicker to point out shortcomings or areas of improvement in the work or the approach, rather than validation and praise of what is working. As a result I often feel unsure of the performance of my work in this role at different occasions. While this does lead to high-quality work, it can hurt morale, and would be better with a balance. Make sure employees know their work is valued. Also, leadership should do what they can to support the voices of others rather than stifle them, and give credit in all the various places credit is due.
