I can appreciate the benefits like free healthcare and the decent 401K plan, but know that it’s a manipulation tactic. I guess Jeans to work make life easy. However…. given that not everybody understands how to dress professionally, the dress code as it stands leaves WAY to much room for error. Given the clientele Prometheus caters to it is appalling that most employees do not show up to work looking presentable. It can be really embarrassing. I would honestly would much rather prefer a formal dress code. When a company sees their employees as respectable professionals, they should encourage each and every single employee to take pride and ownership in their appearance as a PROFESSIONAL.

Minpunten

Great culture is just a corporate way of saying we are a cult for the gullible and fake. Prometheus will sell you the Façade that they care about you as an employee because they are this great amazing quirky company. Be prepared, they are MASTER manipulators. But don’t fall for it, if they truly cared for their employees they wouldn’t feel the need to constantly narcissistically remind their employees of all the “amazing things ( Bare minimum)” they do for them. They are constantly reminding you of everything they “do for you”- like a toxic insecure lover. But, Let’s be honest, this is just manipulation as a means to deter the real conversation and address the real problems at hand! ***PAY IS $18/HR*** Simply put One can work retail for the same pay, same flexibility, Same bottom of the barrel schedule, with 1/4 of the responsibility. So why should one choose Prometheus? What is so enticing? “Industry leading Benefits Package and Culture” Well if you are considering applying remember: -Benefits don’t feed your kids -Benefits don’t put a roof over your head -Benefits do not put gas in your car to go to work -Benefits do not put food on your table Expect a $1000 check every two weeks, nothing more nothing less. With the exception of a semi annual bonus that is pro rated based on performance in the amount of $500. Honestly who even cares about the benefits the pay is so humiliating you most likely qualify to get food stamps and MediCAL, as if you were working at McDonalds. For a company that cares so much about their employees it’s absolutely appalling how out of touch with reality they are. It’s really quite demeaning to think you enter the field of property management to learn a trade and be a professional, all to see posters on your way to work like “IN & OUT NOW HIRING $20/HR” and know you can’t even afford your morning coffee - BLASPHEMOUS. As the saying goes, You get what you pay for, and their pay is PITIFUL. This means it only attracts INCOMPETENT individuals who are gullible enough to fall for the Jargon and get PIMPED! So if you happen to have all your brain cells, be prepared to be EXPLOITED to make up for the countless unreliable bozos. An Average Morning in the Field Looks Like This: You make 18 dollars an hour which means you most likely live in the South Bay . You spend 1-1.5 hours in traffic to get to work during the week amidst the Bay Area traffic to get to the peninsula. As soon as you come in you are bombarded with loose packages in the mailroom that did not get properly delivered so you wear your Amazon hat and go door to door delivering packages to ensure everyone gets their package. You then finally get to your desk ready to dive in to the days work you realize you are by yourself on the floor. You start responding to emails to handle resident relations. All to be bombarded with phone call after phone call, resident at the door complaining their car got broken into. In the midst of all that someone shows up and says I have an 10 AM tour. All while your manager encloses themselves in their office for calls and back to back meetings, because they are too good to pick up the phone or take a tour occasionally! HAHA- silly you to think they would be willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. You take the tour, entice them to lease because after all you are the leasing Agent and the responsibility for maintaining occupancy falls entirely in your shoulders. They want to move in that weekend you let them know you will follow up with the next steps as you are being pulled in a million and one directions. You head back to your desk to follow up with the car break in, get cussed out and screamed at for 20 minutes for things out of your control and above your pay grade . You hang up the phone, start typing your next email you receive another call, someone can’t find their package, you then have to manhunt the entire property for the package. You Come back sit at your desk you finally start to put a file together for that lease you scored that morning, all to realize you have 6 other files needing to be completed, that you haven’t been able to get to because you are constantly doing the work of 3 people getting pulled in every direction possible. Files are expected to be clerically completed to perfection amidst the tours, the phones, the resident relations, the packages, the customers coming into the office, the move ins, the move outs, the renewal conversations- because if the property fails the audit it will be all your fault and you will endure HOURS of humiliation! All of this and you will look at the clock hoping it’s lunch time to catch a breath. Reality sets in and you realize it’s only 10:45 AM and your 11 AM tour arrived early and pest control needs access to 5 units. Management: They are simply a puppet that move you as their monopoly piece to get things done. They will exploit you to achieve their agenda meet their quotas and they get ALL THE FREEDOM ALL THE BONUSES ALL THE RECOGNITION. The same manager who wouldn’t dare pick up the phone when it’s ringing off the hook, or take a tour when you are double booked. The same manager who will humiliate you when your files are slightly off and the property gets dinged on an audit or your availability increases. The same manager who will look down upon you for your socio-economic status. The same manager who will do nothing for your growth so they can continue to exploit you to their advantage. Needless to say, I’ve never been so MISERABLE in my entire life!!! TOTAL HOSTILE RACIST WORK ENVIRONMENT drove me into a deep depression that had me in tears on my way to and from work day in and day out!!! Porter Service: Prometheus contracts a vendor for their Porter service for a majority of their properties. They are treated with disgust as if they are second class citizens. They beautify the neighborhoods and maintain curb appeal. All to not be included in team lunches because management “forgot”. It’s so disheartening and just goes to show that they have no regard for the average working class as they will purposefully outcast whoever they view as second class. Some Employees even have the audacity to add unnecessary tasks to their plate like gathering and washing the dirty dishes around the office, because they refuse to even clean up after themselves. Team Building: Hostile work environment where u can’t even rely on your team. A major part of the problem is that management is not encouraged and coached to strategically build and curate a TEAM!! We all know Teamwork makes the dream work! Everybody has strengths and weaknesses a good manager strategically works towards an inclusive environment where talents can be showcased to ensure their employees feel accomplished and like they are contributors to something greater. Clique like Behavior gets you NO WHERE and should not be tolerated!! Exclusionary behavior should also be unacceptable - we are all equal regardless of job title, income, socio-economic status, race, religion, sexual orientation, age, or gender!

Thank you for your detailed feedback on how we can improve as a company. We encourage everyone at Prometheus to share their thoughts on how we can do better, even former Prometheans. Although there is a lot you bring up, we first want to address pay. Over the last year, we have evaluated our pay structure for Field roles and increased our starting hourly rate for all positions. We also increased commissions for each lease, and Prometheans are eligible for a yearly merit increase and semi-annual bonuses. Additionally, we understand that our benefits package of 100% paid medical, dental, and vision may not meet everyone’s needs, and therefore we also pay you to opt-out of the plan. And for those who work a weekend shift, you are scheduled for 7 hours of work but actually receive pay for a full 8 hour day. We’d also like to thank you for sharing your feedback on our file system and processes. We understand files are a lot of work and take a significant amount of time to get correct. With prior feedback, we have moved our Peninsula Neighborhoods to a One Team strategy with home office and on-site teams that work in a specialized manner to improve the experience of both the Neighbors and Prometheans alike. Within this structure, the home base team completes all admin task including the Neighbor file, which makes the file no longer the responsibility of the on-site Promethean. Our on-site team members can now focus on leasing and customer relations with the added benefit of increased commission on all leases. It is disappointing that you weren’t left with more after six years together. We thank you again for your candid feedback and will use it to do better.

Pluspunten

I have been with Prometheus for five years, and I can honestly say it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From day one, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most genuine, supportive, and knowledgeable professionals in the industry. The collaborative culture and strong team dynamic make it a place where people truly enjoy working together. One of the things I value most about Prometheus is its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being. The benefits are exceptional, and the company consistently invests in its people. Processes and procedures are clear, well-organized, and easy to navigate, with resources readily available whenever guidance is needed. Another standout aspect of the organization is its leadership. Senior leaders are approachable, accessible, and genuinely care about employee feedback. Whenever I’ve reached out with questions or concerns, I’ve received thoughtful, helpful support. Prometheus also offers outstanding opportunities for growth and development. Whether you're looking to advance your career, explore new roles, or experience a change of environment, there are countless opportunities. Most importantly, Prometheus has always made me feel valued, supported, and invested in. It’s a company that truly cares about its employees and makes them feel like an important part of its future.

Pluspunten

Prometheus has a really helpful structure in place for just about everything you do. If you ever forget how to complete a task or just need a quick refresher, there are step by step POP guides you can easily reference, which makes things much more manageable day to day. They are also very focused on giving back to the neighborhood, with volunteer opportunities happening throughout the year. It creates a strong sense of purpose beyond just the day to day work. Another thing that stands out is staffing. Teams are typically well supported, which helps prevent burnout and allows everyone to stay balanced and set up for success.

Minpunten

So far, loving it over here!
