If you are looking for a place where knowing the right people and kissing ass gets you far, Protective may be for you. Hard work and being a good employee get you no where. Protective is all about who you know and not what you know. From the very top down management is only concerned with furthering their own careers and the bottom line. They hype it up on their web site and through recruiters as a great place to work where everyone knows everyone's name, but it is not true at all. Most people walk around there looking down to the floor and most people are just rude. Senior management are total corporate elitists who don't even say thank you when you hold the door for them and are totally unapproachable. Mid level managers are only concerned with their own personal corporate career ladders and there is very little employee recognition. They claim to be all about professional development for their employees, but that is only if you are golfing buddies or use to work with someone in upper management. Salary increases dont filter down to most employees and are consumed by mid managers and department leads before the get to the people actually doing the work. There are serious nepotism problems company wide at protective, so if you don't know someone in management you will never get ahead. There are MAJOR problems in HR as well, so employees have no voices at all. Protective is great place to let your career die. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
