It's just like any other soul sucking dysfunctional office job with a soul sucking leadership team; only difference is you wont be paid to deal with it like you would at other companies. You're never going to hit quota - the ELT will make sure of it. Your account list will change and you'll be the last to know. Your sales targets will change and you'll be the last to know; even if it drastically effects your work/life and cuts your comp in half.
There’s no clear path for career progression or raises. When asked about advancement/raises, management provides vague responses without follow-through.
Senior leadership tends to be distant and doesn't interact with their teams much, focusing more heavily on KPIs with limited direct engagement with employees (Protolabs LOVES KPI's).
The HR department seems closely aligned with senior management, which can create challenging dynamics when addressing concerns.
Employee surveys have been conducted, but results are often delayed and not fully addressed, leaving concerns unresolved. When the results are released, they skip the hard facts and make empty promises.
They regularly post job openings online offering pay bands much higher then their current employees, which causes huge issues.
I would encourage you to do your own research before accepting an offer from Protolabs; stock performance, growth comparison to competition, online review boards such as this one, etc.
