If you aspire to work for a larger, Class I railroad (NS, CP, CN, etc), RJ Corman is a great place to get the experience that you may need to gain employment with them--this may be the only TRUE positive aspect regarding RJ Corman.

Safety is NOT a way of life with RJ Corman-it's a punch line. Enforced only when upper management is alleged to be "in the area." The pay is WELL BELOW not only the average railroad pay (even for a Class III), but the local AND national average(s)--think $13/hour WITH railroad experience. The health & retirement benefits are absolute GARBAGE. Do you like/need overtime?! Well, you won't be getting it here, period! NO potential (whatsoever) for growth/upward mobility.
