The engineering supervisor expected co-ops to figure things out on their own, offering little support while expecting near-full-time productivity. Instead of fostering learning, the role felt like free labor with no room for growth.

A co-op does look decent on a résumé.

Minpunten

Instead of being mentored, interns and co-ops were treated as disposable labor. The work was repetitive and low-level, with no effort made to teach or grow technical skills. It felt like being used to fill gaps without recognition or credit, which defeated the purpose of joining a co-op in the first place.
