Pluspunten
The perks are nice. The occasional massages, weekly lunches, and a decently stocked kitchen with snacks. They will provide you with any physical tangible products (laptops, desks, and etc…) you need for your job but if you ask for respect and equality…good luck with that.
Minpunten
Represent used to be a really cool, fun, and exciting company, but with the lack of respect, management, and equality; Represent has "100 million" miles to go. Management at Represent has gotten better in the sense of C-level execs reaching out to employees and asking them what needs to be fixed but the one of many problem is, nothing is ever done about it. Management needs to take off their rose colored glasses and face the harsh reality that the majority of their employees are being treated unfairly and are extremely unhappy. Multiple employees have voiced their concerns about how they felt mistreated and unheard and yet years later, the same issues continue to come up. Actions speak louder than words and management really needs to start taking their employees' concerns seriously. One of the biggest problem at Represent is managements infatuation with the horrible misogynistic business development team. Note that the BD team consist of a group of boys who were friends prior to working at Represent. Note again, there are no women on that team. Almost every department has had issues with members of the business development team. The BD constantly states that because they “bring in the money” they can do whatever they want. The BD team is extremely difficult to work with. Celebrities and online influencers have made videos complaining/warning others to not work with Represent because the business development team is completely incompetent and unprofessional. These issues and videos have been brought to the attention of C level execs at Represent and Custom Ink (Custom Ink acquired Represent in 2016) and their excuse was, "the celebrities and online influencers antagonized the BD individual so it really wasn’t their fault.” If almost every employee at the company has had complaints about the BD team and clients are complaining about them too, I think it’s safe to call a pig a pig. If blaming a client for an employee’s unprofessional behavior is acceptable, it explains why misogynistic and demeaning jokes are acceptable at Represent. If you ever visit the Represent office, you’ll notice the lack of women there. Note* Don’t confuse the other company that rents out the other half of the office with Represent’s team. They are a diverse and great company. Within the last year, almost all the women has left Represent. There are a few women left but the majority are boys and a few men. Issues with the BD team demeaning women and gays has been brought to the attention of the HR and C-level execs and their reactions are baffling, “what inequality? no one here has misogynistic tendencies….” When employees complain that the business development team makes gay and demeaning jokes about women and men, don’t say you’ll follow up and not follow up. Management’s solution for this is to tell these horrible individuals "not to say these jokes at the office.” Here’s some advice to the management team, how about tell them it is never acceptable to make these kind of jokes! Period. Almost every single person who has left Represent has cited that the business development and management team are their reasoning for leaving or wanting to leave. I advise the HR “team” at Represent to take this seriously and not just try fit in with “cool kids” at the BD table. There are absolutely no morals or ethics at Represent. Represent’s model is “show the world what you stand for” but I don’t see or ever hear that phrase. All I know is the company t-shirt they made for the employees that said “Sex, Money, T-shirts, Sales.” Represent should change that to their model to that because it seems like that is the only thing they really do care about.
