Pluspunten

Lots of overtime and always work available.

Minpunten

Delivering in the pouring rain has got to be a big one. Closely monitored while driving the Amazon logo vans. Cameras installed in trucks watch your every movement. If you take 1 hand off the steering wheel to open a window or adjust the ac controls, you get dinged and it sends warnings to your boss right away who then in return calls you to ask what happened then reminds you if it happens over a certain amount of times you get fired. Also seat belt has to be clicked in before you put the vehicle in drive, even if your moving 15 feet, if not, it sends another message to dispatch who then calls you again. Very frustrating and annoying to deal with while your tring to be a delivery driver. Also route has to be completed in a specific time frame and if not, then send another employee who has already finished their route to come help you. So you never really get to drive back when your done with your job, they will send you to go help others if your fast at your job.

Days can be long. Most shifts are about 10 hours.

Pluspunten

- $20/hr, weekly pay, ADP app for payroll - Interview was trivial, gave me the offer without much effort - Training is decent, lots of good advice from a lot of different people - Coworkers and dispatch are cool people - DY01 is a nice place, cool breakroom - They have scheduled days where they give out a ton of free snacks or even merch sometimes - They pay you for your DOT physical and certification, which can lead to a CDL if you want - As long as you give 2 weeks notice you can call out basically whenever you want** - At its best, you're driving a van and listening to music

Minpunten

- A lot of vans are abused af, some would barely work well enough to drive and were often filthy and filled w trash (and sometimes bottles of urine) - The owner sends out cringy threatening texts to the whole company pretty much every day, like announcing every time someone was fired (i.e. 3 employees TERMINATED today for safety violations...) - I called out sick one time; they fired me, then back-peddled and basically said 'Don't do that for another 180 days and you'll keep your job' - The 'nursery route' system is kind of cool but it just means the job gets harder the longer you work there and there's no compensation - There are sometimes 'blackout dates' where you can't miss work under any circumstances or you're instantly fired - Amazon flex app is super annoying and the GPS is really delayed and confusing - Schedules are made weekly with a draft system, and it can be any day of the week. You find out your schedule on the Friday beforehand, so basically 2 days notice every week. It made things really hard to plan around - The weather has to be very extreme for the fleet to get called off, be prepared - A lot of vans have a driver tracking camera that's really freaky, but you don't need to drive in those kinds of vans most of the time
