Focus on positive communication means bad news is often obfuscated or not communicated, any push back or critical thinking is poorly received or dismissed. Struggling to transition from hero culture into a business process based operating culture. Poor communication from leadership team. Lack of defined processes and product direction. No clear career progression. Lack of training opportunities. High levels of technical debt.

Thanks for taking the time to submit your thoughts on working at Ripjar. While we have things to work on, we are glad you have recognised great colleagues and the initiatives we have put in place to ensure the wellbeing of our employees. When it comes to lack of defined processes and product direction, we agree that this is one of the challenges that we have as we grow from a start-up to a larger organisation. With our recent funding we are looking to recruit experienced team members who will help contribute as part of our growth. It is a shame you feel that we lack training opportunities, we have always encouraged training, from sponsoring Doctorates through to online training. I can't recall a request for training being turned down. We hope our fortnightly All Hands and Q&A sessions are going some way to improve communication and our weekly drop-in sessions with our COO to provide the opportunity to listen to employee's concerns, as well as the normal line management channels. It would be great to discuss any specific ideas you have within these forums.

Pluspunten

The people are great to work with - smart, driven and fun. Leadership has vastly improved now the previous CEO has left, with a much more stable, calm direction being taken, to everyone's relief, which is beginning to pay off.

I left my role of almost 10 years to join Ripjar and I’m glad I did! Whilst we’ve had a period of change which has been challenging at times, we finally have a leadership team in place that care about the future of Ripjar and are committed to making it great. This is the first place I’ve worked where I can honestly say the leadership team listen to their employees. I love working for a company that shares the passion of our products and everyone can see the difference our products can make. Well done for steadying the ship and setting us on course for great success. An exciting time ahead.
