Good job security, health benefits. Almost anything is possible when you work with Rutgers' brilliant faculty if they are properly motivated.

Minpunten

Outdated central IT department. Far too many Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, and Deans, not enough mid-level skilled employees. Golden parachute contracts galore. Execs throw millions at administrators and contractors to solve problems like continuous DDOSes that can be solved by mid-range IT security specialists anywhere else. Did I mention the central IT department is outdated?

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Minpunten

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
