You are constantly working on technology that is outdated thus slowing development. It is not uncommon to find yourself developing on something that was "cutting edge" 8 to 10 years ago. Management's decisions are based on what is "neat" rather than functionality or practicality. If there's a way to save a dollar then management will find a way at someone else’s expense. Internal movement is non-existent and HR is near useless. Upward mobility is limited - what you come in as, is what you'll stay. Lay-offs are a common event that everyone turns a blind eye to. Bonuses and pay raises range from nothing (literally) to meager. Their charge rates are twice that of competitors, yet they pay less than half of what other companies do. Great business model for them. Benefits, such as 401k, change when you move from project to project, or at the whim of management.
