While there, I had office space, and there was some effort to include part time staff in course meetings and elicit our contributions for assignments. It all depends who you report to.
Minpunten
One day, when the scheduling of the fall term was off loaded to the secretary, courses I had initially been promised were handed off to someone else...no big deal...After that I could not get back into that department. I did eventually work continuing education. All was fine and nice for a while. However, I suspect (which is an unspoken issue) that because I was at the top of the "Step" ladder that a reason was concocted to get rid of me and other high-step people. They had an evaluator come in to observe my teaching. The evaluator praised my teaching, and nevertheless, at the end of that term I was shown information about my teaching form 10 years ago which was then used as the basis to not renew my contract. The evaluator was not mentioned. These people are nasty when they want to get rid of you. Read the other reviews. It is about money and they won't tell you that. I think there is a five year expiration date on most contract staff..after that they hire cheaper talent.
