Minpunten

Management is lead by deception, lies, and by a cut-throat approach. They have fired numerous and valuable team members without prior discussions or warnings while promoting messaging to team members about how “we are a family” and stating how they want to invest in your growth and skills within the company. However in reality, they have absolute no interest or desire to upskill you. On top of that, management severely lacks proper leadership and communication skills. If management has any comments/issues regarding your work, they are not discussed directly and truthfully with you. Instead, discussions and decisions are made in secret (and often against) valued team members. Salaries are frequently not paid on time, so worring about if you have enough money to pay all your bills every month is a real dilemma experienced by many workers. Management promotes a micromanaged work environment as a strength. And lastly, there is an occurrence of highly inappropriate posts/messaging across various work channels which shouldn’t be allowed in any professional workplace. It's honestly shocking how management allows this sort of behavior in what should be a professional work environment, but as demostrated above they are not professional in any sense of the word.

Thank you for your feedback. As an organization that began based on passion for a problem, not a traditional business plan, ShotFlow's journey to market leadership has not been all smooth sailing. We are a first-time management team that faced many challenges, including very limited funding and a pandemic that decimated our retail clients. Consequently, we didn't always have the proper oversight, processes, and systems in place as quickly as we would like. Although we certainly don't agree with all of these points, we have made tremendous strides to mature the organization with new management hires, better defined processes, and support staff as we split off into a standalone company in 2023. Pay and benefits have been better aligned to industry best practices and automated systems are in place to reduce human error. Regarding layoffs and firings: in the five year period from 2017-2022, the total count of people fired or laid off from the entire ShotFlow team was 4: 1 layoff in April 2020 due to COVID, 2 layoffs in December 2022 due to a change in QA strategy, 1 firing in December 2022 due to lack of performance. Although it is always difficult to let people go, this organization has done everything possible to only hire when we have high confidence in retaining that position over time. In 2022, we implemented scheduled six month reviews for all team members, and in 2023 a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process to ensure clear communication in cases where a team member is at risk of being terminated. We are not a perfect organization, but we strive to be better every day, and we always welcome constructive criticism.

I've been fortunate to be aligned with ShotFlow's mission and commitment from its beginnings in 2015, driven by a common dedication to empowering individuals and streamlining processes within this specialized industry. For me the biggest "Pro" is the right people addressing the current landscape of creative production processes. As a result, ShotFlow has the most sophisticated technology on the market to support enterprise content production.

Minpunten

For me, I miss spending time in-environment and the only "Con" is not having a fixed office/location with a completely remote and distributed workforce.

The management and decisions made in the company is to the betterment of management and no one else. They dont care what they do, who they hurt or who they let go, no people skills, especially the CTO.
