Everybody lies from the interview till your last day. There are growth opportunities but they'd rather hire externally and make you work till you are burned out and fire you once you start asking questions. Managers will purposely misguide you to keep you stay motivated but your target will move as you get closer and closer. Then they will start pointing fingers at each other like they didn't know the truth about there won't be any promotions.
