The company as a whole is incredibly disorganized. Some weeks, I would know what to do, and other weeks, I had zero direction for my work. I was with a company that was acquired. We were told the changes would be implemented slowly. Life went on as usual until it radically changed after three months. My coworkers were being dropped left and right without even any notice. Not that it was any of my business, but about once a week, I found out a close colleague had been let go. When this was addressed on a team call, one of the managers of my pod said, "I'm sorry if this upsets you all, but the only advice I can give is to deal with it." Management often threatens employees with being written up for policies many of us didn't know about. Utilization scores make zero sense. The numbers they asked us to meet were possible for some weeks and impossible for others. Low percentages were a result of not receiving work, which left me living in fear of losing my job. I once spent three weeks asking for work to do which I was never given. I did not get laid off. I decided to leave because I couldn't stand to be there any longer. If you are part of a company that is being acquired, I don't think there is anything wrong with giving it a shot. I hope you'll have a different experience than I had. But I recommend not waiting too long to get out if things are going south for you.
