Pluspunten

Working there builds awesome faith based relationships with coworkers that help improve personal growth. Knowing that you're making a meaningful impact on the campers and helping them grow toward Christ is rewarding.

Minpunten

OVERWORKED AND UNDERPAID. Day camp workers work 60+ hours a week. When you do the math, that comes out to about 2.69/hr. Unacceptable, especially for such a physically, emotionally, and spiritually demanding job. Management is unprofessional and unorganized. It's so bad that I still haven't been reimbursed for driving 800+ miles at the beginning of the summer (it's august), and this is with constant polite reminders to them AND their bosses.

Pluspunten

Firstly, I loved the camp ministry and evangelism aspect. In addition, I had a really phenomenal boss who took care of all who were on the team that I gained some really good friends through my boss ensuring I wasn't eating alone. I know camp can be a challenge, but I can say with certainty my boss led well and balanced needed accountability with concern and compassion for the people on the team. The best, but hardest thing was that my coworkers cared to challenge me to grow beyond where I was at. They chose to know me to know that it was with the best intentions they addressed what I needed to change.

Minpunten

I think that the hardest part was the constant shift and the challenges associated with camp, but the experience is worth it.

Worked both day camps and Inon. Inon was awful but day camps were great. Made life long friends.
