Pluspunten

- Great server products, good flexible designs. - Old heads and early investors lucked out with RICHES with AI hype - If you're Asian and speak Chinese, you will fit in. If not, you will more than likely struggle and face many frustrating challenges. - Good job security if you're a follower or know how to suck up and brown nose to the right people, or have dirt on the right people. - Lots of new positive one-line, one-minute style reviews praising the company, are clearly fake and are from people being told by HR and marketing to leave them to try to boost the company's rating to get more REAL talent in, because the talent they do have is really no up to industry standards. READ these new 4+ star reviews and compare them to those just a month ago, it's clear what's going on since the stock dipped from $1K+. Use your head.

Minpunten

- This company is seriously the most high-school drama filled backstabbing company in the valley. I swear managers and even the CEO feel that it's appropriate to yell at others and even their underlings, while humiliating and demeaning them, thinking that will increase their production and morale. In Asian culture, yeah it works because people are scared and want the job security. If you're not Asian, this will be a shock to you and have you shaking your head wondering what you're doing there outside of getting a paycheck and hoping for more RSU's. I don't know how many times in our weekly sales meetings, the CEO calls deaprtments or specific people PITIFUL... while so many old department heads continue to suck up to him like he is royalty. Yeah he's the CEO, he signs the checks, but the amount of people that lose their self dignity and respect in this company is hilariously high. - The sales groups are so disorganized and crazily corrupt. Nothing has changed for the past 20 years. It's great there's no commission cap, but you can do everything correct according to company policy and grow an account, land big deals, only to get it stolen from you or put in a position to split it with someone else who didn't do any work, but has the ear of key people. I can't tell you how much money I could've had, but lost due to other sales coming in the last minute and telling the CEO that they have connections at the customer, and CEO overrides their written policy and forces a transfer or split. Or even worst, you're forced to trade your best accounts to senior people, so they can get the company recognition, and you're given crap non-revenue accounts as compensation to make it appear on paper things are kosher. - The backstabbing is absolutely absurd. You have to make sure you cover all aspects of your work to protect yourself, otherwise people will backstab you whenever they see an opening. Sure it's cutthroat, but there are ZERO ethics. If you have no morales, no ethics, no honor code, then you will more than likely succeed in sales here. You've been warned. - All this talk about free breakfast and dinner is hilarious to me. Breakfast is the cheapest pastry from contracted Asian bakeries, and you're lucky to get any of the good ones as people take a ton before others get in. If you do see any leftover, it's usually really crappy ones, like the weekly walnut wheat one that hardly anyone gets. The dinner boxes need to be ordered online in advance, and if you submit for one, you should be guaranteed one. However those that miss the ordering cutoff, just go in early and take a random one leaving those honest people with nothing. The policy that all culprits will be reported and dealth with by HR is comical, because HR doesn't do anything, even if they have witnesses to the complaints. - Speaking of HR, it's really bad. Remember, HR is to protect the COMPANY, NOT YOU! Forget what anyone says, this is the golden rule for this company's HR team. They will lie to your face and work with managers to plot your demise. There's enough public records that people can search for when it comes to settlements, and there are many that face the decision whether or not to pursue legal action for similar infractions, mainly prejudice and discrimination. - The skills you can learn here are a great starting point to your career, but if anyone thinks that they will automatically translate to positions to other companies like NVidia, Intel, AMD, HPE, Dell, etc. they're fooling themselves. Those companies just laugh at SMCI employees when it comes to realy skill and industry knowledge and treat them as entry level beings. - the list goes on for the cons, and I would just say, 99% of the 1-2 star reviews here are beyond accurate and are echo'd by the majority of the company. People just can't say anything because they're scared and want that check. Can't blame them, but if your mental health means anything to you, along with family life, then you really really should be looking elsewhere.

Pluspunten

I have enjoyed working in the Supermicro IT & DataCenter infrastructure group. It's an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in some of the most impactful trends in the industry, including AI infrastructure, liquid cooling, high-density computing, and next-generation data center design. As an IT Director focused on Applications and data center infrastructure, I have been able to work with talented, dedicated engineers and business leaders to meet complex customer requirements. The company moves quickly, embraces innovation, and provides opportunities to make meaningful contributions rather than getting lost in layers of bureaucracy.

Minpunten

The pace can be demanding, and priorities sometimes shift as the business continues to grow rapidly. There are times when processes, tools, and organizational structures are still catching up to the company's expansion. Success often requires flexibility, a willingness to take ownership, and the ability to navigate ambiguity. Employees who prefer highly structured environments and clearly defined boundaries may find the pace challenging.
