Pluspunten
I have worked my way up through the years to nice spot in a great department so I really like how things happened for me. The company is re-certifying to a new ISO standard and management does its best to accommodate any issues that can interrupt work as time is available. There is a week of paid time off twice a year, around Christmas and July 4th, not counting PTO.
Minpunten
The people that put the most in to the job are not the ones that tend to get the most out. Sexual discrimination seems to be the norm and many people in management tend to fraternize a bit too strongly with the floor staff to be considered professional. There is not enough consideration of people's ideas for change, and if it comes from somebody who is not a member of the right groups, it may not be recognized at all or worse yet be stolen by someone in lower management for their gains. Favoritism runs way too deep in the culture here and new people would have a tough time working in without being very exceptional at this point. Floor associates need to be present for a manufacturing job, so random time off is up to the whim of whether or not there are too many people out to have spots out available. After the 2008/2009 economic downturn, many benefits and programs that were available did not return when profits did.
