Pluspunten

People are genuinely trying their best. Everyone I worked with on my team was great, we had open communication channels between each other. People - including upper management - cared about giving employees the platform to make it a really great job. I was able to get experience in almost everything related to marketing.

Minpunten

The upper management is not very open to constructive criticism when it comes to the already made decisions, the overall theme is "we were doing our best, and at that time that was the best option available" - which is an alright thing to think, but it's still important to go over "what we could have done differently and how can we learn from this". So it was frustrating at times that no one stopped to ponder at the mistakes and internalize the experience, everyone was just rushing to the next big shiny thing. Unexpected layoffs that no one saw coming was the most traumatizing thing. In my 3 years there, there was a layoff each year . I wish the management was more forward about the state of the company so that people knew how things actually were instead of hearing that the company is doing great and then suddenly getting laid off out of the blue. I also wish that laying off people was done with more consideration towards people that were getting laid off.

We appreciate your value in this and the contributions you made to our team during your time at TaskEasy. We also appreciate you addressing the cons - no company is perfect and we can always learn from this feedback. No doubt, layoffs are by far the most difficult task in business and I think we are not unique in the fact that it was a painful time for many. Layoffs are very common in start-up's and TaskEasy has always been transparent that we aren't exempt from that as a small business surviving the ins and out's of growth. We've gotten awesome feedback on the time and effort taken in conducting layoffs (ironically from those impacted), the large severance packages offered, and the care and thoughtful approach in how we addressed this with those impacted in the past. We are proud that we haven't had an impactful layoff in over 2 years as our employee retention is a huge priority - our company is on high growth and we currently have the highest revenue margins in company history. Our turnover is the lowest it has ever been (below 10%), so we are grateful for the changes we've made to continue to make our company better than ever. Tribal knowledge can make starting up hard, but that just forces you to learn from your co-workers

This is a very unique company to work for - in the most positive way. Anyone here can make their presence known through shared discussions with all levels of management and take what they've learned and offer suggestions on how to improve anything from the actual product to the processes that help smooth internal communication/efforts. Overall I believe that the intent of the Senior Leadership team is to engage as many individuals as possible on various pressure points so that they can leverage the experts internally as valuable assets down the road - they WANT people to grow, shine, and become better versions of their professional selves because it's what will help the company. It's profoundly impactful to have the team recognize talent and learn how to coach individuals up to their full potential and into better/higher paying positions. The growth mindset is a philosophy that the management cares to execute on - and I'm not sure that it's found frequently in other fast growing companies.

Minpunten

Sometimes the culture of empowerment here that allows people to express their ideas and frustrations openly becomes distorted and gives a false sense of entitlement where some believe that it is on them to share the feedback and it is the problem of others to provide a plan or recommendation to resolve whatever problem they come across. Some of the mid-level management can at times be unwilling to listen or look into certain issues posited by lower level positions and have somewhat of a negative attitude if they feel that their authority is being challenged. This is not frequent, but when it happens it's notable.
