Overall this is an incredibly easy position where you mainly watch liquid handlers all day. There is minimal mobility within the company if you work in the lab because of high employee turnaround. The measured metrics to promotion between tech 1-4 is nonsensical (favoritism only) and does not actually improve your pay or your experience in the company. There are many teams with interpersonal issues, particularly in the Wednesday through Saturday, morning DNA shift specifically. The job is, again, incredibly easy but the bullying and harassment that occurred from fellow coworkers is ignored if not encouraged by supervisors and upper management which leads to high turnover. This is a widely known problem and it goes ignored by ineffective management and nonexistent HR. If you are a person of any minority or LGBTQ+ group you will be ostracized by certain coworkers and harassed/slandered until you quit. This involves telling lies that management blindly believes, due to blatant favoritism, and limits your ability to leave the team causing this or just move to a different position in the company.
