This is a rapidly growing industry, especially in the wake of the Royal Commission into Aged Care findings. There is a grotesque culture of bullying and harassment, which stems from the top of this franchise. Staff are constantly pitted against each other, endure an obscene degree of micromanagement and are expected to work lengthy unpaid overtime (including a rotational on-call weekend where you are responsible for 50+ calls and service requests). Suggestions and critiques are frowned upon by the managing director, who follows a strict narcissistic ideology. Initiative is permitted, so long as it has the pre-approval of management. Employment contracts are blatantly ignored and disregarded, and office staff are constantly in fear of becoming the next target of the managing directors boredom.
