Pluspunten

Walls to keep the cold out, a roof to keep the workers and computers dry, sometimes forks in the kitchen.

Minpunten

Everyone’s experiences are different, but from what I’ve seen the common trend at ToonBox is that everyone gets screwed over eventually, it’s only a matter of time. They unfairly represent themselves as owners of the Nut Job, but they don’t own anything. They are a service studio for their Korean backers and nothing more. There is a constant stream of lies, broken promises, and disrespect from management. A lot of people feel the Korean employees are treated better, and in some ways they have an advantage because they will never be let go, but for some of them it’s not an advantage because they are more trapped there than anyone else. The day the Nut Job was released, the studio was so quiet it was like being at a funeral. I think I may have even saw a tumbleweed pass by. There was no email, no communication, and no excitement that a movie so many people had worked hard on had been released. Finally late in the day, an email went out that there would be a celebration in the front office of chicken strips and wedges. I’ve been on low budget TV shows that had more grand celebrations. The movie went on to make over 100 million worldwide. Maybe not a huge success in comparison to the big feature studios, but the artists never saw any of it. No party. No thank you. No gratitude. Even if that thank you were to happen now, most of the crew has been let go, or quit. FOUR of the production staff quit within a two week period. This should not be surprising because they feel the direct brunt from the incompetent management. What it comes down to is we all need jobs. We all have bills to pay, and we may even have families to look after. Working at ToonBox can totally fulfill those needs for a time, and in some ways it is what is most important. But in the end, you won’t be just selling your talent and ability to them, but your passion, or your soul, or whatever you want to call it, and don’t expect to get anything back for it.

Pluspunten

They act to be very passionate and enthusiastic when they approach you and when they want things from you.

Minpunten

They do not provide support to their employees. They have horrible communication skills. Feel like you whole life is wasted while waiting for them to make decisions.
