Pluspunten

Benefits are ok, Pretty standard for a company of this size. The other employees in all departments were really nice and patient.

Minpunten

Where to Begin... I was hired as a RSR due to my background in running a route and I have sales experience. The base salary to start is 37K, which they make very apparent that this is your starting point and that they have a few RSR's that make 70k+ per year with commissions. What they don't tell you or make very clear is that you will be covering for RSR's for holiday relief and sick days, but that it shouldn't take long to get your own route which gives you the opportunity to make commissions. i met guys that had been there for over a year and were still waiting for a route. After a couple of weeks I started noticing guys that were quitting, now these guys had maybe been there for a month or 2, but needless to say It should have raised some red flags. I thought maybe they couldn't handle the early mornings or the physical aspect of the job. Once I was fully trained on someones route I ran it for 2 weeks while he was away on vacation, I started to closely watch some of the guys that had there own routes and had worked there for a few years. I noticed that I was leaving the branch in my truck at about 4;30ish AM and so were they and when I was getting back at about 3-3:30ish PM a lot of these same guys were also getting back. I started to ask some of these guys what they made last year. On avg it was 45-50K per year. But wait, did you do the Math? These guys were pulling 11-12 hr days busting their hump... for what? no overtime that's for sure. After some thought I quit. how was I going to have the energy to try and upsell a client for some crappy commission, when all I wanted to do was get through the day and get home so I could get to bed early for my 345am alarm. The Supervisors were ok, they tried to help as much as they could, but unfortunately they were having to go out and run routes as well due to the high turn-over rate.

Pluspunten

Upper management genuinely cares about their team, and the hiring process is simple and straightforward. Base pay and the monthly stipend are both fair, and I appreciate the company's structure — questions get answered quickly, and you have dedicated team member support. I also like that the role is self-managing, with CDR handling pricing and deal structuring so you can focus on your own performance. Overall, this company really takes care of its employees.

Minpunten

The pay structure for this role is a bit unique — after a sale closes, the CDR earns commission for the first few months, and then commission transitions over to the drive team. It's certainly not a deal-breaker, just an observation, and I'm not knocking the company for it. All in all, I had a wonderful experience at UniFirst.
