At Unit8 we are a driven team of individuals that want to have an impact and show results. We are invested and self driven and put in the energy that is needed to achieve our goals. The sky isn't the limit. For me this is a big plus but if you prefer a much slower paced and easier job with less challenges, it might not be the place you.

A very small few have some interesting projects. Other employees, including managers and directors are very good.

Minpunten

Terrible attitude by C level towards employees. Around 40-50% of staff quit each year, turnover is extremely high and very few stay more than one year. People accept because they're told they'll work on data science projects, but most projects are standard IT you can do anywhere else. Very bad salary. Much lower than competitors or clients. If you are coming from a country with lower salaries this might still seem worthwhile at first. But the contract has a non-compete clause that prevents you from working for any companies they deal with, even if you've never had any interaction with them yourself. The Swiss job market is small, so you could find yourself locked out of the Swiss job market if you try to leave. It's illegal (look up Art. 340a I CO) but they do it anyway. You can see this same attitude all the time when they deal with employees.

Pluspunten

Unit8 attracts highly motivated, results-driven people - working with this team is genuinely enjoyable. While client projects naturally vary in intensity (which is common in consulting), the culture outside of project work is a real highlight: frequent team events, a socially open atmosphere, and colleagues who are always up for hanging out, collaborating, or just having a good time. There's a real sense of community here that's hard to find elsewhere.

Minpunten

The role demands versatility, which is exciting but can also lead to ambiguity around priorities - it's not always clear where each person should focus their energy. Similarly, the expectations tied to technical seniority levels could be better defined, making it harder to understand what progression actually looks like.
